Finland will start building fences on its eastern border with Russia next year as the country has been beefing up its security since Russia launched a war on neighboring Ukraine this February, the Finnish Border Guard said Friday.

The Nordic country's border with Russia has a length of 1,300 kilometers (808 miles), the longest of any European Union member. In 1939, the then-Soviet Union invaded Finland with its much larger military, resulting in territorial concessions to the USSR after a three-month conflict.
Finland is set to spend €139 million ($143 million) for the planned border fence, which will cover the construction of approximately 70 km (44 mi) of the barrier fence.
- 52 km (32 mi) of this will be in Southeast Finland, 8 km (5 mi) in North Karelia, and 5 km (3.1 mi) in both Kainuu and Lapland. Construction will take place in 2023-2024 - said a Finnish Border Guard statement.
A pilot fence, set to be built in spring 2023, will test implementation of the project by building a fence of nearly 3 km (1.9 mi) on both sides of the Pelkola border crossing point in Imatra, with later expansion to a maximum of 200 km (124 mi).
- Once completed, the barrier fence at the eastern border will provide significant added value for border surveillance and will be very important for the management of situations and operational efficiency - said Col. Vesa Blomqvist, commander of the Southeast Finland Border Guard District.

The Serbian parliament on Wednesday elected a new government some seven months after its general elections.

The Balkan nation held elections on April 3 to choose a new president, members for its 250-seat parliament, and local authorities.&nbsp;The new government was elected with 157 votes in favor and 68 against in 250-seat parliament.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently the only country in the Western Balkans without an operational EUROPOL Contact Point, and yesterday’s decision should allow for the operationalization of the Contact Point within 20 days.
One additional important step is however required for the Joint Contact Point to move towards full operationalization, and we urge the Council of Ministers to approve the necessary changes to the internal organization of the Ministry of Security, which would enable full administrative and technical support for the Joint Contact Point.
Putting into full operation the Joint Contact Point will allow direct cooperation between Europol and all law enforcement bodies in the country.
This will contribute to a more efficient fight against organized crime, terrorism and other forms of transnational serious crime.
The full operationalization of the Contact Point will be an important milestone in strengthening rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in view of the Commission’s recommendation to grant candidacy status to the country, stated the EU Delegation to BiH.&nbsp;

A meeting on the subject of linking electronic toll collection between public companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia was held on Thursday at the invitation of the Motorways of Serbia. 

The meeting was attended by the delegations of FBiH Motorways and the RS Motorway, led by directors Elmedin Voloder and Slobodan Stanarević together with colleagues from the Motorways of Serbia.
During the meeting, all parties expressed readiness to connect the electronic toll collection between these three public companies in order to enable the end user to use the motorways as simply and efficiently as possible.
Director of FBiH Motorways, Elmedin Voloder, emphasized readiness to implement the agreement and noted that the purpose of the meeting and agreement is the common interest of all parties for the satisfaction of motorway users and faster and simpler passage through toll stations.
It was agreed that a cooperation agreement should be prepared in the coming period, which should be signed in Banja Luka. The date will be agreed upon later, while the implementation teams will start preparations already next week.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an order for an international warrant for Miodrag Mitrašinović, since he was not found at the address after the first-instance verdict was handed over for war crimes, the court confirmed for "Avaz".

 

Mitrašinović, who did not appear at the sentencing on October 21st, was sentenced to 13 years under first-instance verdict, together with six other former members of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS), who were also sentenced to the same prison terms, i.e. a total of 91 years in prison for participating in the kidnapping of 20 civilians from a train in Štrpci at the end of February 1993, who were killed in the area of Višegrad.

<h2>He was treated in the Foča University Hospital</h2>

Referring to the chronology of this case, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina reminds that before the verdict was pronounced in the case mentioned above, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted to the Court a proposal to determine the measure of detention for the accused in the "Štrpci case", in which it was stated that all were arrested except Miodrag Mitrašinović, who, according to the state prosecutor's office, was in the hospital in Foča, where he was admitted for a medical procedure.

This information was confirmed by the defense counsel of the accused Mitrašinović, lawyer Miloš Perić, who informed the Court that his client was in the hospital in Foča, where he underwent an operation during the day, and that he was not mobile and that he does not know how long he would be kept in hospital.
- Immediately after the sentencing and determination of the custody measure, the Court issued an order to the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Custody and Other Measures of BiH to ensure the implementation of the custody measure against the accused Miodrag Mitrašinović in the Foča University Hospital, where, according to the information provided to the Court at the time, he was being treated, and after the treatment was completed, he would be transferred to Vojkovići penitentiary in order to continue serving the detention measure - explained the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As they further state, after that, the Management of the Vojkovići penitentiary informed the Court that the accused Mitrašinović was not in the University Hospital in Foča, given that, as confirmed by the Department of Surgery, he was discharged from further treatment on the same day.

After receiving that information, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an order to issue an international warrant in relation to the accused Miodrag Mitrašinović.
Ex-soldiers Mitrašinović, Obrad and Novak Poluga, Petko Inđić, Radojica Ristić, Dragan Šekarić and Oliver Krsmanović have been sentenced to 13 years each in a first-instance verdict for participating in the murder of 20 non-Serb civilians who were seized from a train that was traveling from Belgrade to Bar in Montenegro.
The victims were shot dead in the village of Musići and their bodies were then thrown into the Drina River.

The Embassy announced on its official Twitter that the United States is committed to the principles of Dayton – that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a democratic, multi-ethnic, sovereign, and independent state with unquestionable territorial integrity. Neither Dayton nor the Constitution of BiH offers any entity the right to secede.
- Those who want to perform duties in BiH should respect democratic processes and institutions that ensure that the voice of citizens is heard and stop presenting voters with wrong and inaccurate information about the electoral process in BiH - said the US Embassy in BiH.

They also state that there is no justification for responding to standard measures of electoral integrity with dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric about secession, which was used on Monday in Banja Luka at a meeting organized by the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), led by Milorad Dodik.

Genocide negation, that is, the negation of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is confirmed by this film. It is another blow from the so-called civilized world to the victims of the biggest crime in Europe after the Holocaust, the genocide in Srebrenica. The film is a documented testimony of the dishonesty, moral and intellectual collapse of the planners and performers of aggression and genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The film certifies the work of genocide planners and perpetrators in Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the preliminary results of the General Elections, which were announced by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today afternoon, Milorad Dodik (SNSD) received the most votes for the President of the entity of Republika Srpska - 287,662 or 48.18 percent, while Jelena Trivić (PDP) won 259,326 or 43.43 percent of votes. These are the results based on 97.28 percent of processed polling stations. 

Senad Bratić (The Movement for the State) from the Bosniak people won 10,537 or 1.76 percent of the votes, and Davor Pranjić from the Croat people (HDZ BIH, HSP BIH, HKDU, HSP AS, HSP HB, HRAST, HDU ) with 1,618 or 0.27 percent lead in the race for the Vice President of the RS. 
For the new convocation of the National Assembly of the RS, the SNSD leads with 207,797 votes or 35.24 percent.
They are followed by the SDS with 89,592 or 15.19 percent and the PDP with 61,351 votes or 10.40 percent.
The Socialist Party - NDP - SNP has 10.40 percent of votes, the Democratic Alliance - DEMOS 5.69 percent, United Srpska 5.28, Justice and Order List of Nebojša Vukanović 4.96, DNS won 4.57, the Movement for the State 4.25, People's Party of Srpska-Darko Banjac-PUS-PRVA SDS 3.34, SPS - Socialist Party of Srpska - Goran Selak 3.19 percent of votes. The other parties from that list received less than one percent of the votes.

Several thousand citizens gathered tonight in Banja Luka's "Mladen Stojanović" park for a peaceful protest organized by representatives of the opposition in Republika Srpska dissatisfied, as they claim, with electoral theft and fraud, primarily in the context of the race for the president of that entity.

The participants of the rally went on a peaceful walk towards Trg Krajine, where the opposition leaders made official speeches and messages were sent to the authorities in order, as the organizers say, to get to the truth and respect the will of the voters.
